The Christmas shopping season is upon us and in the current economy shopping for sales is a must! And one of the best places to shop is online. Why? Because of all the deal sites. These websites search for the best deals on the web 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

dealnews.com is one of my favorites. The site has many categories – from clothes to toys to electronics – and if you are looking for something specific, you can have them email you with the sales available on that item or in that category. The site also covers Black Friday sales extensively and even has a “strategy” guide.

Dealhack is another great site for deals. Some of the stores they watch are Office Max, Old Navy, Amazon.com, Newegg.com, Target, Jos. A. Bank to name a few.

Gilt Group is a new site for luxury brands. The site states you could save up to 70% off of retail and “member only” prices. You have to sign up for membership and wait till they send you an email allowing you access. Very selective, I guess. I hope I am worthy ;)

Tech sites abound. BensBargains.net, Techbargains.com are two I freguently visit. BensBargains.net has a list of coupons, rebates and even free offers available and are mostly tech deals. Techbargains.net is all tech all the time and also has coupons along with store deals.

Buy.com is another site that can email the sales of the day. These can be a variety of items ranging from computer, housewares, apparel and even furniture. You can tell the site to email you what category your most interested in.

If you want the sales as soon as it hits the site, you can also sign up for deal tweets. Some of the sites above will send a tweet to your account. But one caution, these can add up to ALOT of tweets each day!

For other twitter deals, go to twitter and search #deals for your daily fix.

A site a friend recommended for local Chicago deals is Groupon’s If you live in one of the areas they cover, sign up and they will email you a coupon for a great deal each day. I’ve gotten deals for car washes, hotdogs and designer jeans.

And since it’tis the season, BlackFriday.info has all the “leaked” ads for the now famous Black Friday Sales as soon as they come available.

So start shopping, planning, strategizing and saving money. If you come across some other great sites, please, please share in the comments.
